Shaman Class Guide

Shaman is the third basic class on the Epitome Steam page, beside Warrior and Ninja. The MMORPG is still Coming soon as free-to-play Windows Steam from Epitome P.S.A. This article sticks to advertised tools: one-handed weapons, bells, fans, then Path of Light versus Path of Darkness. It does not invent extra totems or a hidden healer spec.

Steam calls Shamans masters of magic who use one-handed weapons and magical artifacts like bells and fans. That mix is the tell. You still have a weapon in one hand. The other part of the fantasy is ritual gear. If you wanted only steel, Warrior already exists. If you wanted only vanish, Ninja already exists. Shaman is the starter for people who want the fight to change around the group, not only at the person they clicked.

Weapons and artifacts

Plan around a one-hand weapon plus bells or fans. Steam does not list two-handed Shaman weapons the way it does for Warrior and Elementalist. Do not import a staff fantasy from another MMO and then get angry at the store page. Bells and fans are the named artifacts. They are how the class signals magic without leaving the one-hand rule.

That also means Shaman is not “the caster who never swings.” You can stand in melee range with a one-hand weapon and still be the person who Blessing or Curse the pack. The class picker sends support-and-magic answers here. Rankings belong on the starter path rankings page once more footage exists.

Path of Light

Path of Light is the support route. Steam says you support allies and yourself. The named skills are Blessing and Luminous Howl.

Blessing increases damage resistance. That is a mitigation layer for you and the people standing with you, not a full private health bar. Luminous Howl is the group finish: Steam says it deals a finishing blow to groups. Light is not a pure healbot fantasy in the store copy. You keep people alive enough to stay in the fight, then you spend a loud finisher when the pack is already hurting.

If you like being the reason a charge does not instantly delete your friends, Light is the path. It still asks you to watch the room. Blessing spent after everyone is already on the floor is a eulogy. Howl spent on a single leftover enemy is a solo concert.

Path of Darkness

Path of Darkness is the curse-and-summon route. Steam says you cast curses to debilitate foes. Curse increases damage taken by enemies. Summon Darkness calls a dark dragon to tear them apart.

Darkness is not a second Ninja. You are not invisible. You are making the enemy cheaper to kill and then adding a dragon-sized problem. Curse is the multiplier other people’s steel wants. The dragon is the spectacle and the extra body. If Light is “we take less,” Darkness is “they take more, and now there is a dragon.”

Crowd tests will punish both greed and shyness. A Curse you never spend is a unused lecture. A dragon you summon into a wipe is an expensive pet. Darkness is for players who want the Shaman name without pretending they are only a shield.

Shaman next to advanced magic

Necromancer and Elementalist are the advanced magic identities, unlocked through Morality Metrics. Shaman is the starter magic door on Steam. Do not skip Shaman because you saw a pre-alpha Necromancer create. That test-build detail is documented on the Necromancer page. Steam’s advertised create screen is still three classes.

Shaman Darkness is curses and a dragon. Necromancer Blood is a Dark Knight and a Great Ghoul. Those are different summon lists. Elementalist Balance is orbs and a Hydrosoul Guardian. If your long-term poster is elemental storms, you still need a starter you can actually make.

Faction does not swap Blessing for imperial paperwork. Aria worships every Archon. Zetia backs Zethar. Read Archons and world lore and the faction guide when you pick a banner. This page stays on bells, fans, Light, and Darkness.

For unfinished tier talk, use the tier list hub. For a first create, decide whether you want to be the resistance buff or the curse that makes Warrior Vortex look smarter. Shaman is the starter that makes a group screenshot change color.

If you want the party to remember a sound rather than a silhouette, Shaman is the create that fits. Light is the path that buys another second of steel. Darkness is the path that makes the next second cheaper for everyone swinging. Neither path is a private healer sim, and neither one waits for Steam to add a fourth starter tile.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers for wishlist, classes, and pre-alpha questions.

Is Shaman a healer in Epitome?

Steam frames Path of Light as support with Blessing resistance and Luminous Howl as a group finishing blow. It is not described as a dedicated healer class.

What weapons does Shaman use?

One-handed weapons and magical artifacts such as bells and fans, according to the Steam class copy.

Path of Light or Path of Darkness?

Light supports with Blessing and finishes groups with Luminous Howl. Darkness uses Curse and Summon Darkness, a dark dragon. Pick mitigation plus finish, or debuff plus summon.

Does Darkness lock me out of Aria?

Steam presents class paths and factions as separate choices. Aria versus Zetia is Archon allegiance, covered on the [Archons](/players/archons/) page, not a Shaman subclass gate.
